Here is the essence of water baptism: the nature of burial of our old man, and resurrection experience to walk with Christ in newness of life. With Water Baptism our body should be lost its power of our sin so that we no longer be the slave of sin (Romans 6:6). Through Water Baptism, we are talking about burial and resurrection. Let our old man suffered “total mortality”, we become one with the Lord Jesus in His death, and took part in the life of His resurrection (Colossians 2:12).

Baptism comes from the word “baptizo” (Greek) which means “drowned the whole”, that is why God ordered the first of John the Baptist to baptize with water (Jn 1:33), which is the baptism of repentance (Matt. 3:11), by drowning person who were baptized into the water, then raises it from the water; that was done in the Jordan.

Water described the grave, which is to bury us from sin. Water baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus (Acts 2:38); also be done in the name of  the Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19). Water Baptism is a

sign of damp out of the water and also we can experience the power of healing from sickness, evil spirits can be exorcised, the lame can walk because of Authorization from Heaven has been poured.

In addition we were buried to death in baptism, then we also must be like Jesus Christ was resurrected from the dead by the glory of the Father in the new life (Romans 6:4).

So, when we are baptized, we experienced an experience of “death and burial of our old human nature” as the experience of Jesus when He died and was buried (Rom 6:4). After we become one with His death, then we also become one with his resurrection (Rom 6:5); before Jesus rose from the grave, we also – at the time of baptism – was raised from the water, …

Therefore, the correct way of water baptism is the way our bodies completely submerged or immersed in pond water of baptism or baptism (Matthew 3:16), and water baptism was done in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19) .
